Tax, VAT & Indirect TaxOn 15 March 2021, the Government announced that £20 million would be made available to help smaller businesses to navigate changes to the new trade rules following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU Customs Union.
The SME Brexit Support Fund could provide up to £2,000 in funding (per business) to help with training or professional advice. It is aimed at businesses with up to 500 employees and with an annual turnover not exceeding £100 million.

The closing date for applications is 30 June 2021.
Qualifying expenditure has to be made after 11 February 2021. The claim for payment (including evidence of expenditure) has to be submitted within two months of the grant offer being issued, and by 31 August 2021 at the latest.
