I have been providing internal audit, external audit and risk management services to the public sector for some twenty years. I joined Scott-Moncrieff (now Azets) in 2006, after training as a CA with a big four firm.
I am responsible for overseeing and leading on a range of public sector clients, across both our significant Audit Scotland portfolio and from our extensive internal audit client base. My clients include large, £1bn+ annual spend NHS boards, central government bodies, and various further education colleges and universities. Influencing public services and helping improve efficiency and effectiveness within public sector bodies is the most rewarding aspect of my role.
I am a member of the NHS Technical Accounting Groups and have acted as a guest trainer to the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (Scotland).
In my spare time, I have many years' experience as a volunteer Non-Executive Director/Trustee and Treasurer of a £13m turnover local leisure trust.
